Kakobuy Shipping Agent: US Routes, Fees and Ordering Guide

Kakobuy acts as both a buying agent and a freight forwarder: you send a product link or use its search, pay the item price plus roughly 4.5% in payment fees, approve the warehouse QC photos, then pick an international line at checkout. For US orders the published duty-free USPS route starts near $38.50 for 1 kg with 7–13 day transit and Kakobuy handling the customs declaration. Everything below was checked in April 2026 and rates can change.

Kakobuy is a China-based shopping agent that buys from Taobao, Tmall, JD.com, 1688 and Weidian, photographs each item in its own warehouse, then consolidates the goods and forwards them internationally. It charges no separate purchasing fee, adds a payment fee of roughly 4.5% per transaction, stores orders free for 100 days and quotes a duty-free USPS line for US addresses. Fee and route figures on this page were checked in April 2026.

About Kakobuy

Kakobuy is operated by EVERYDAY GO INC and describes itself as a one-stop platform for product purchasing, product inspection, freight forwarding, customs clearance and bonded warehousing. Traffic data published in April 2026 put monthly visits above 6.5 million, and the platform's own user base is concentrated in Poland, the United States, Spain, Canada and the United Kingdom, which makes the US a core market rather than an afterthought.

Sourcing covers Taobao, Tmall, JD.com, 1688 and Weidian, with WeChat sellers, Xianyu and Yougou handled through a manual product-search form. Sellers ship to Kakobuy's Chinese warehouse, where each item is photographed, parcels are screened for prohibited goods and your order can sit free of charge for up to 100 days before it is consolidated into an international parcel.

Our testing team ordered a mixed haul through the desktop flow and ran it through check-in and checkout to a US address. Ordering itself was quick, and the three free warehouse photos covered colourway, size and quantity as advertised, though not materials or workmanship. The friction sits on the shipping side: rates are billed on the greater of actual or volumetric weight, and the cheapest lines exclude liquids, powders and anything with a battery. Fee and route figures here were checked in April 2026.
What to weigh up
What works well
  • No separate purchasing fee on the item price: you pay the product cost, domestic shipping and roughly 4.5% in payment fees.

  • One of the highest-traffic agent platforms in the category, with more than 6.5 million monthly visits reported and most users in Poland, the United States, Spain, Canada and the United Kingdom.

  • Free 100-day warehouse storage and three free QC photos per item, which makes consolidation across several orders practical.

  • A duty-free USPS special line for US parcels, with Kakobuy preparing the customs declaration on those routes.

  • New-user shipping offer: $16 off unlimited shipping plus a $410 shipping coupon bundle, with the coupon bundle applied automatically at registration.

  • Multi-platform sourcing, including Taobao, Tmall, JD.com, 1688 and Weidian, plus manual handling of WeChat sellers, Xianyu and Yougou listings.

What to check
  • The extra $16 unlimited-shipping discount is not automatic: the current new-user code has to be redeemed on the coupons page and is limited to one redemption per person.

  • Rules-based returns are tight. Custom-made items such as extra-large footwear or printed jerseys cannot be returned or exchanged, and faulty items need a return request within 5 days of warehouse check-in.

  • The duty-free USPS line excludes liquids, powders, pastes and powered goods. Perfume is usually limited to one 100–150 ml bottle per parcel and electronics need a specialist channel, so confirm before you buy.

  • Shipping is billed on the greater of actual or volumetric weight, so bulky packaging can push the quote above the 1 kg benchmark. Cheaper lines also carry more customs risk than the duty-free route.

  • Payment fee wording is inconsistent in Kakobuy's own material: a flat ~4.5% is stated in most places, while the PayPal route has been quoted at 2.9% + $0.30. Check the fee shown at checkout.

  • All prices, thresholds and route details on this page are dated April 2026 and can change without notice.

How Kakobuy works as a buying and forwarding agent

Kakobuy covers both halves of the job. On the buying side it purchases from Taobao, Tmall, JD.com, 1688 and Weidian, and accepts WeChat seller, Xianyu and Yougou links through a manual product-search form. On the forwarding side it receives the goods at its Chinese warehouse, photographs them, screens parcels for prohibited items and consolidates your orders into one international shipment.

In practice you paste a link or search for the product, pay for the item and domestic shipping, wait for the warehouse to check the goods in, approve the QC photos, then choose a shipping line at checkout. Free storage runs for 100 days, which is long enough to stack several orders before you consolidate. Sellers normally dispatch in 48–72 hours, and an order that has not shipped after five days is usually an out-of-stock case you can cancel for a refund.

What you actually pay at Kakobuy

Kakobuy does not charge a separate purchasing fee on the item price. The fee stack is: the product cost and domestic shipping converted at 6.19 CNY per USD, a payment fee of roughly 4.5% per transaction, international freight, any import duties, and optional value-added services if you select them. Kakobuy states that its fees are publicly listed, so the checkout total should match the published rate.

One caution on the payment step: most Kakobuy material quotes a flat ~4.5% processing fee with no additional transaction fee, while the PayPal route has been described as 2.9% + $0.30. Those two figures do not describe the same thing, so read the fee line at checkout rather than assuming. The platform's own published worked example — a ¥24.23 item plus ¥2.43 domestic shipping landing at ¥28.26 — illustrates the fee stack, but the yuan and dollar amounts in that example do not reconcile at the 6.19 rate, so treat it as an illustration rather than a quote.

Shipping a parcel to the United States

For US addresses the headline option is the USPS duty-free dedicated line. A 1 kg parcel starts at approximately $38.50 with a stated 7–13 day transit time, and Kakobuy prepares the customs declaration on that route following the 2025 threshold change. Duty-free routes are the ones to pick if you want the clearance paperwork handled for you; if you pick a standard route instead, clearance and any duties fall to you.

The duty-free line has hard restrictions: no liquids, powders, pastes or powered goods. That rules out most cosmetics, vapes with batteries and many electronics, which need a specialist channel you should confirm with customer service before ordering. Perfume, when it is allowed at all, has typically been limited to one 100–150 ml bottle per parcel. European destinations are consolidated through services such as DHL Germany.

Since freight is billed on the greater of actual or volumetric weight, packaging bulk matters as much as what you bought. Ask for a package preview before you pay the international leg if the parcel is large.

Customs thresholds by country

A parcel declared below the destination country's duty threshold is generally not taxed, provided the declaration is accurate. Kakobuy reports that only about 0.3% of its parcels end up dutiable. The thresholds Kakobuy published, as reference points only, are: United States $800, Japan ¥130, South Korea $150, New Zealand $300, Singapore $300, Spain $30, Canada C$20, United Kingdom £15, European Union €22, Switzerland CHF 100, Australia A$1,000. In Switzerland the duty threshold is CHF 100 while the VAT threshold is CHF 65.

Two practical points. First, Canadian and European customs authorities inspect parcels relatively strictly, and commercial couriers such as DHL are more likely to attract duty. Second, weight and repetition drive the personal-versus-commercial decision: parcels over 10 kg are very likely to be treated as commercial, and shipping many identical units in one box is a classic trigger. Kakobuy notes that this threshold list was compiled from public information and is not official guidance. On duty-free routes Kakobuy assists with the declaration, and users who have to pay clearance costs on those routes can request reimbursement with receipts.

Quality control, 100-day storage and returns

Check-in comes with three free QC photos, and the standard check covers style, quantity, colour, size and model for clothing, bags and shoes. It does not verify materials or workmanship, and Kakobuy does not authenticate or function-test electronics or sealed items — so the photos are a damage and specification check rather than a quality guarantee.

Storage runs 100 days from check-in, with an email reminder before expiry if you still have not shipped. Returns hinge on speed: if you are unhappy with what the photos show, or the item is defective, you have five days from check-in to submit a return or exchange request. After that window the option is gone. Custom-made items such as extra-large footwear or printed jerseys are generally excluded from returns altogether.

Optional services and their fees

None of these are compulsory, and the base service is unaffected if you skip them. Order-level extras: custom photography at $0.32 per photo and priority purchasing at $0.80 per item order. Parcel-level extras: storage extension at $1.61 per order for 30 days, item reinforcement at $1.61 per instance, package photography free of charge, package preview at $2.90 per instance and vacuum packaging at $3.23 per parcel. These amounts were published in April 2026 and may change.

Is Kakobuy legit?

Kakobuy is a real, operating agent with a published company structure — EVERYDAY GO INC — a customer service address, and mobile apps distributed through the major app stores. Reports of more than 6.5 million monthly visits from users concentrated in Poland, the United States, Spain, Canada and the United Kingdom are consistent with what buyers describe on Reddit, TikTok and Instagram. Our own ordering and check-in flow behaved as documented, and the disclosure of fees, storage terms and value-added charges is comparatively open.

That said, legitimacy is not the same as risk-free. The duty-free USPS line bans whole categories of goods, returns are strictly time-limited, and freight is billed on volumetric weight. New users also get a $16 unlimited-shipping discount plus a $410 shipping coupon bundle: the $410 is applied automatically at registration, while the $16 discount needs a code redeemed once per person on the coupons page. Treat any offer you cannot see confirmed in your own account as unconfirmed.

How to use Kakobuy

  1. Step 1 — How to find links worth forwarding

Type a keyword such as "sneakers" or "Jordan sneakers" into Kakobuy's search bar, use image search on a photo of the item you want, or copy a product link from Taobao, Weidian or 1688 and paste it into the bar. Community picks from Reddit, Discord and TikTok are a useful starting point, and a curated catalog is faster than scrolling seller pages. Confirm colour, size and material on the seller listing before you commit.

  2. Step 2 — How to work from a catalog or spreadsheet listing

Set the catalog to Kakobuy so links open on the right agent, browse by category or brand, and read the item detail for colour, size and material. When the listing matches what you want, follow the link through to Kakobuy and add the SKU to your cart. Spreadsheet prices are guides: the live price, domestic shipping and any size upcharge are confirmed on the agent page.

  3. Step 3 — What to check before you pay

Check whether the seller accepts no-questions-asked returns or exchanges, because custom-made goods such as extra-large footwear or printed jerseys are usually final sale. Confirm the item is not prohibited for export, and remember that perfume is typically capped at one 100–150 ml bottle per parcel and electronics need a specialist channel. Confirm whether the checkout fee is the flat ~4.5% or the 2.9% + $0.30 PayPal rate.

  4. Step 4 — Waiting for delivery to the warehouse

Sellers normally dispatch within 48–72 hours; less popular or custom items take longer. If five days pass with no dispatch, the item is usually out of stock and you can ask Kakobuy for a refund. The warehouse check covers colour, size, model, quantity and visible damage, not materials or workmanship, so review the three free photos and file any return request within five days of check-in.

  5. Step 5 — Consolidating and shipping your parcel

Merge items from one or more orders into a single international parcel and choose a carrier. A 1 kg parcel to the US on the USPS duty-free dedicated line starts at about $38.50 with 7–13 day transit, and Kakobuy handles the customs declaration on that route following the 2025 threshold change. European destinations are served through consolidated services such as DHL Germany. Keep the parcel under 10 kg and avoid many identical units in one box.

Shopping-agent guide
Start by deciding what you want forwarded, not just what you want bought. Every Kakobuy order moves through the same four stages: purchase, warehouse check, consolidation and international shipping.

1. Find the product. Search Kakobuy by keyword, paste a Taobao, Tmall, 1688 or Weidian link into the search bar, or upload a photo for image search. Catalog and spreadsheet listings are useful for browsing categories, but always confirm colour, size and material on the seller's own listing before you pay.

2. Place the order and pay. Kakobuy converts the item price and domestic shipping at 6.19 CNY per USD, then adds a payment fee of roughly 4.5%. PayPal, cards, Wise, UnionPay and bank transfer are all supported, and no separate purchasing fee is charged on the item price.

3. Wait for the warehouse check. Sellers usually dispatch within 48–72 hours; if nothing has shipped after five days, request a refund. Kakobuy uploads three free QC photos. If something looks wrong, submit a return or exchange request within five days of check-in.

4. Consolidate and choose a line. Storage is free for 100 days. For US addresses the duty-free USPS special line starts around $38.50 for 1 kg with 7–13 day transit and the declaration handled for you. Do not put liquids, powders or batteries on that line; perfume is usually capped at one 100–150 ml bottle per parcel and electronics need a specialist route.

5. Check the declaration. The US threshold is $800 declared value; above it, or on non-duty-free routes, clearance becomes your responsibility. Keep parcels under 10 kg and avoid shipping many identical items together, because customs weigh both when deciding whether a parcel is commercial.

Optional extras are charged only if you select them: priority purchase $0.80 per item, extra photos $0.32 each, 30-day storage extension $1.61, item reinforcement $1.61, package preview $2.90 and vacuum packing $3.23. All figures were checked in April 2026. Confirm prohibited-item rules with customer service before buying anything sensitive.
